Thermal Imaging CCTV cameras work by identifying the amount of infrared energy given off by objects in order to calculate temperature.
The feed displays different temperatures of objects in its field of vision as different colours, allowing an easy visual recognition of a scene in situations that the naked eye or a regular CCTV camera could not, such as at night time or poorly lit areas.
